Does it keep playing when the screen is locked? Yes. While playing, it keeps clicking on the lock screen and in other apps.
The tiles on the lock screen don't move. Tiles follow the beat at tempos in steps of 5 from 30 to 240 BPM. At other tempos, or with Reduce Motion on, the tiles are shown without movement.
